Different 2FA! Not Suitable for Co-Hosts

My wife and I manage multiple properties, and we’ve encountered an issue with the current Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) process that’s impacting our ability to efficiently manage our listings.

Each time my wife attempts to log in, she is prompted with a 2FA request that sends a verification link to my email address. If I am traveling or otherwise unavailable, she is unable to access the account, as the process does not generate a code but only a link sent to my email. This creates a significant barrier to our ability to manage our property seamlessly, especially when I'm not readily accessible.

We already use a secure password and leverage other tools, such as PriceLabs and financial management software, that don’t require 2FA, or offer more flexible 2FA methods (e.g., SMS text verification). Given this, I would appreciate it if you could consider offering a more user-friendly solution for 2FA—such as sending codes via text message or enabling multi-device authentication—so that both my wife and I can access the account independently, without being reliant on my email.

    Support for 2FA QR Code Authentication

    Problem statement

    Users are experiencing friction and reliability issues with email-based login, making it difficult to access accounts.

    Proposed solution

    Implement 2FA QR code authentication (such as TOTP apps) as an alternative login method to improve security and accessibility.

    Unlock

    Users will have a more reliable and faster way to authenticate their accounts without relying solely on email delivery.

    Yes — THIS! Additional issues arise for those of us who use browsers like Brave or use browsers that are set to clear cache/cookies etc. The current 2FA method requires those of us in these scenarios to get an email link to authenticate every time we use the desktop app/browser. Would love to have to have more options (SMS, Authenticator, or preferably, FIDO2)
