Ability to charge case-by-case security deposits per reservation

Security deposits are currently set at the property level and apply uniformly to all reservations. Hosts cannot selectively apply deposits based on guest circumstances (pets, group size, parties)

This creates a dilemma: charge everyone (deterring low-risk guests) or charge no one (exposing the host to damage risk)

Impact:

Lost bookings if deposits are applied universally to all guests

Out-of-pocket risk for damage caused by pets or large groups when no deposit is in place

No way to balance guest experience with property protection

Proposed Solution:

Allow hosts to require security deposits and adjust deposit amounts on a per-reservation, case-by-case basis. Hosts could selectively apply deposits based on guest circumstances (e.g., pets, large groups, parties)

Unlock:

Hosts would feel more comfortable hosting pets and large groups

Ability to charge low or no pet fees, benefiting guests with pets

Better balance between guest experience and property protection
