Ability to offer custom discounts during the inquiry stage

Problem statement

Hosts currently cannot offer personalized discounts or custom pricing to specific guests during the inquiry stage. This limits flexibility when trying to convert inquiries into bookings, especially for guests who may need a special rate to commit.

Current workaround

Hosts must either:

  • Manually adjust pricing in their channel manager or PMS before the guest books
  • Communicate a discount verbally/via message and hope the guest books at the standard rate, then issue a refund
  • Use platform-specific tools (like Airbnb's special offers) outside of Hospitable

Impact

  • Lost booking opportunities when hosts can't quickly offer competitive or personalized pricing
  • Extra manual work and coordination required to apply discounts
  • Inconsistent guest experience across different booking channels
  • Risk of errors when manually adjusting rates outside the inquiry workflow

Proposed solution

Add the ability for hosts to generate and send a custom discount or adjusted price quote directly within the inquiry response workflow in Hospitable. This could be a percentage discount, fixed amount off, or custom total price that the guest can accept.
