Problem Statement:
- The Occupied preset is hardcoded to activate 2 hours before guest check-in
- In hot climates, properties take longer than 2 hours to cool down to comfortable temperatures
- Guests arrive to uncomfortably warm properties because the preset doesn't activate early enough
Current Workaround:
- Manually adjusting thermostat settings before check-in
- Leaving the thermostat in a pre-cooling state outside of Hospitable's automation
Impact:
- Guest discomfort upon arrival due to warm temperatures
- Additional manual work for hosts to pre-cool properties
- Potential negative reviews from guests arriving to hot properties
Proposed Solution:
- Add a setting to customize the Occupied preset activation time (e.g., 2 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours, 10 hours, etc. before check-in)
- Allow hosts to select the appropriate timing based on their property's cooling/heating characteristics
