Bidirectional sync for Airbnb rule-sets (create and delete)

Problem statement

  • Rule-sets created in Hospitable sync to Airbnb, but deletions do not
  • Hosts must manually delete rule-sets on Airbnb after removing them in Hospitable
  • Many hosts are unaware that rule-set deletion is not bidirectional, leading to outdated or conflicting rules remaining active on Airbnb

Current workaround

Hosts must remember to manually delete rule-sets directly on Airbnb after deleting them in Hospitable, or avoid using Hospitable rule-sets altogether and rely on third-party tools like PriceLabs instead.

Impact

  • Increased time and effort managing rule-sets across two platforms
  • Risk of forgetting to delete old rule-sets on Airbnb, causing pricing or availability conflicts
  • Reduced trust in Hospitable as a centralized management tool
  • Hosts may abandon Hospitable rule-sets in favor of external tools

Proposed solution

Enable full bidirectional sync for Airbnb rule-sets: when a rule-set is created in Hospitable, it appears on Airbnb; when a rule-set is deleted in Hospitable, it is also deleted from Airbnb.

Unlock

Hosts would be able to manage all Airbnb rule-sets entirely from Hospitable without needing to check or manually update Airbnb, saving time and reducing errors.
