Category: Pricing & Fees
Problem
Hosts often want to charge a per-night fee that caps after a certain number of nights — e.g. a €2/night cleaning surcharge, linen fee, or local tourist contribution that only applies to the first 5 nights of a stay. Today, Hospitable's fee frequencies are fixed: per stay, per night, per guest, per guest per night, per pet per stay, per pet per night. None of them support "per night, but only for the first N nights."
Proposed solution
Add an optional "max nights" field to per-night fees (and per-guest-per-night fees). When set, the fee accrues for each night up to the cap, then stops. Stays at or below the cap pay the full per-night accrual; stays above the cap pay the capped amount.
Example: €2 per night, max 5 nights
• 3-night stay → €6
• 5-night stay → €10
• 10-night stay → €10
Use cases
• Linen/cleaning surcharges that scale with short stays but cap on long ones
• Local tourist taxes with a statutory night-cap (common in EU municipalities)
• Welcome-pack / consumables fees that only refresh weekly
• Discounts on long stays expressed as a fee that drops off after night N
Channels
Ideally Direct + Airbnb + Booking.com + Vrbo. Where the channel doesn't natively support a capped fee, Hospitable can compute the effective amount and push it as a per-stay fee on the channel side at booking time.
