Change default check in/out settings when creating blocks

Blocks can be confusing versus manual bookings. I assert that the vast majority of users who create blocks are doing it to lock up dates on a property’s calendar for a friend or other acquaintance to stay, or for maintenance. The current default settings for “Check-in available” and “Check-out available” are that they neither checked nor unchecked, which is confusing. If my assertion above is true, the default settings for the first day of the block should be that “Check-out available” is true (✓ selected), and “Check-in available” is false (Ⓧ is selected), and vice-versa for the last day of the block, that is, check-in should be available and check-out should be unavailable.

Further, it occurs to me that for the first day of the block, check-in available is implicitly false, and that for the last day of the block, check-out available is implicitly false, and neither of these options should even be displayed. The display should be changed so that the first option reads “Allow check-outs on first day of block” with a value of true, and the second option reads “Allow check-ins on last day of block” with a value of true, no matter which date(s) of the block are selected. It doesn’t make sense to allow check-ins on the first day of a block or to allow check-outs on the last day of a block.

These changes not only make logical sense, but also aligns blocks with manual bookings, by default, for the majority of use cases.
