Checkout notification link with guest satisfaction rating

Problem statement

  • Hosts currently have no way to receive confirmation when guests check out
  • Cannot collect early feedback about guest satisfaction before they leave an OTA review

Current workaround

Some hosts use third-party tools like Turno, which provides a checkout notification link that guests can click to confirm checkout and rate their stay (1-5 stars). This workaround requires maintaining a separate platform and prevents hosts from fully adopting Hospitable's Tasks and Pay functionality.

Impact

  • Hosts discover guest dissatisfaction too late (after a negative review is posted)
  • Missed opportunities to resolve issues and prevent bad reviews
  • Hosts must maintain separate tools (like Turno) just for this functionality
  • Prevents full adoption of Hospitable's task management and payment features

Proposed solution

Add a checkout notification feature that:

  • Sends guests a link (via message shortcode or automated message)
  • Allows guests to confirm checkout with one click
  • Collects a simple satisfaction rating (1-5 stars)
  • Notifies the host immediately with checkout confirmation and rating

Hosts would be able to:

  • Know immediately when guests check out
  • Identify dissatisfied guests before they leave a review
  • Proactively reach out to address issues and prevent negative reviews
  • Consolidate all operations within Hospitable without needing third-party tools
