Conditional messaging based on upsell purchases

Problem statement:

  • Currently, there is no option to conditionally include content in guest messages based on whether a specific upsell was purchased
  • When creating custom codes, "upsell purchased" is not available as a condition option
  • This makes it impossible to automatically send upsell-specific instructions only to guests who purchased that upsell
  • Adding instructions to every message is not practical β€” hosts don't want to tell guests how to access services they didn't pay for (e.g., golf cart instructions sent to guests who didn't rent one)

Current workaround:

  • Manually sending separate messages to guests who purchased specific upsells
  • Adding all upsell instructions to every check-in message regardless of purchase (impractical and confusing)

Impact:

  • Extra manual work for the host to identify which guests purchased which upsells
  • Guests who didn't purchase an upsell receive irrelevant instructions, causing confusion
  • Inefficient use of time managing guest communications
  • As hosts push upsells, they need an easy way to support them β€” this gap makes upsell management difficult

Proposed solution:

  • Add "upsell purchased" as an available condition option when creating custom codes
  • Allow hosts to set conditions based on specific upsell purchases

  • Reduced manual work and improved guest experience with targeted messaging
