Display Actual Smart Lock Code in Property Access and Devices Sections
Problem Statement:
- The "Property Access" and "Devices" sections in Hospitable display an incorrect lock code (7917) that doesn't exist on the smart lock at all
- This occurred when a guest extended their stay via Hospitable Direct after an original Airbnb booking, creating a lock code conflict
- The system generated a code that was never programmed on the lock
- The actual code (9257) is correctly programmed in Yale Access but not reflected in Hospitable's Property Access/Devices views
Current Workaround:
- Hosts must verify the correct code on the lock provider's app (e.g., Yale) every time they need to provide the code to a guest
- The %smartlock_code% shortcode in guest messages works correctly, but the Property Access/Devices sections remain unreliable
Impact:
- Wastes time verifying codes on the lock provider's app each time
- Creates uncertainty and confusion for hosts and their teams
- Inconsistent information across Hospitable pages vs. the actual lock
Proposed Solution:
- Ensure the "Property Access" and "Devices" sections display the actual code programmed on the smart lock, not a generated or cached code
- Sync the displayed code with the lock provider's actual programmed code
Unlock:
- Hosts can rely on Hospitable to show the correct lock code consistently across all pages
- No need to verify codes on the lock provider's app each time
- Reduced confusion and time savings for hosts and their teams
