Enable payment collection for Booking.com bookings when "Payments by Booking.com" is enabled

Problem statement

  • When "Payments by Booking.com" is enabled, hosts cannot collect additional payments (pet fees, extra charges, etc.) through Hospitable
  • Booking.com does not provide a "request additional funds" option for guests
  • Hosts are forced to use third-party payment methods (Stripe, PayPal, etc.) to collect extra charges manually

Current workaround

Hosts must collect additional payments outside of Hospitable using their own payment processor (Stripe, PayPal, etc.), which adds friction and requires managing payments in multiple places.

Impact

  • Increased operational overhead managing payments across multiple platforms
  • Potential for missed or delayed payment collection
  • Poor guest experience having to pay through external payment methods

Proposed solution

Allow hosts to collect additional payments directly through Hospitable for Booking.com bookings, even when "Payments by Booking.com" is enabled for the base reservation.

Hosts would be able to collect all payments (base rate and additional charges) in one place through Hospitable, streamlining their payment management and improving the guest experience.
