Owner Stays

When adding a manual reservation, hosts want the option to flag some as Owner Stays. Flagging it as such would allow it to be easily filtered out of relevant Metrics and Reports if needed, and could be used to more easily track any owner stay limitations that property managers have in place.

From the Owner’s Portal:

Owner’s can book stays from their Owner’s Portal, without needing to reach out to their property manager. Mogul plan users will be able to manage the following from Hospitable:

• Owner Stay limitations (e.g. Susie can stay 10 days per year, but cannot stay over Spring Break or New Years)

• Owner Stay requests vs instant book

• Choose which, if any, automations to disable for Owner Stays (like Guest Messaging, Smart Lock codes, etc)

• Set owner stay fees, and exclude commissions. For example, your typical cleaning fee for paying guests is marked up, and is $200. You want to charge your owners the actual cost, $150. The owner would not need to pay at the time of booking, but the amount would be accounted for on their Owner Statement or Invoice. That way… you can cover your costs transparently, but the Owners won’t have the inconvenience of having to pay when they book.

For Owner’s, their experience booking an Owner Stay through the portal will be simple. They’ll go through a booking experience that highlights how much income they could make by leaving those dates available for paid guests. The goal will be to cut down on offline communication between Owners and their Property Managers.

Public API / Webhooks / Zapier

The Public API and Webhooks payloads will be updated to include an owner stay attribute.
