Currently, Direct bookings expire if not accepted within 24 hours. While this protects calendars from being blocked indefinitely, some hosts would prefer more flexibility. For example, they may want to extend the acceptance window beyond 24 hours or customize how expiry is handled. For example:
- Allow hosts to configure the booking expiry window (e.g., 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours, or up to 7 days).
- Option to replace “booking expiry” with conditional messaging, for instance, holding the booking but withholding door codes or final confirmation until verification steps are completed.
- Clearer guest communication so they understand whether their booking is pending, confirmed, or awaiting host action, without feeling like they’ve “lost” the booking after payment authorization.
