Epic: Enhanced Rental Agreement Management

User Story:

As a host using Hospitable's rental agreements, I want to be able to edit individual rental agreements before sending them to specific guests, so that I can customize agreements for unique situations without modifying my master template.

Problem Statement:

Currently, rental agreements are automatically generated from templates and cannot be customized per reservation. Any changes require editing the template, which affects all future agreements. This limits flexibility for hosts who need reservation-specific modifications.

Acceptance Criteria:

  • Ability to edit rental agreement content before sending to individual guests

  • Changes apply only to that specific reservation, not the template

  • Maintain existing template functionality for standard agreements

  • Preserve current workflow for hosts who prefer automatic generation

Business Value:

This would give hosts greater flexibility while maintaining the efficiency of our current template system, addressing a gap between our automated approach and hosts' need for customization

    Surprised this only has 3 upvotes. I’m currently running into this issue as I want to be able to send an event agreement for birthday, graduation, holiday gatherings but I don’t need it automatically applied to every reservation i get. I’m forced to do it outside of the PMS which an extra step and cost that is really annoying.

    I understand what you’re hoping the end-result to be, but can you share a little more about why you would edit an agreement one-off like this? What makes you want to modify an agreement for a particular guest? Understanding more of the use case behind your request will help us as we assess this.

      Hey! Sorry for the slow response! I’m a former EdTech Exec for biz dev, product and wore a few different hats over my career…I’ve read more user stories, epics and problem statements than I ever care to count.

      I have several larger properties that act as venues where guests book nightly stays but also pay a venue fee as well. There are too many categories to build out a rental agreement for each different type of event. I also have guests that seem like they may be more challenging than others based on the intake process.

      A modifiable rental agreement would allow me to tailor the agreement to all of the hundreds of unforeseen variables.

      I promise I won’t take as long to respond next time :D
