Problem Statement:
- WiFi-enabled Midea window AC units are not currently supported in Hospitable's device integrations
- Hosts cannot remotely control these units (temperature, mode, scheduling) through the platform
- Since these units already have WiFi capability, integration should be straightforward
Current Workaround:
- Having to remember to manually adjust window unit settings
- Using the Midea manufacturer app separately for each unit
- No centralized control across multiple properties
Impact:
- Risk of forgetting to adjust temperatures before/after guest stays
- Inconsistent guest comfort when manual adjustments aren't made
- Missed opportunity to automate cooling based on reservation status
Proposed Solution:
- Add WiFi-enabled Midea window AC units to Hospitable's device integration catalog
- Enable remote control of temperature and cooling mode
- Allow integration with thermostat presets (Occupied/Unoccupied modes)
Unlock:
- Hosts would be able to remotely control Midea WiFi window units just like other smart thermostats
- Centralized climate management across all property types
- Automated cooling adjustments based on reservation schedules
