Integration with tado smart thermostats

Problem statement

Hospitable currently does not support integration with tado smart thermostats, preventing hosts from automating temperature control based on guest check-ins and check-outs. Hosts with tado devices cannot leverage Hospitable's automation capabilities to manage their property's climate control.

Current workaround

Hosts must manually adjust their tado thermostat settings before guest arrivals and after guest departures, or rely on tado's own scheduling features which are not synchronized with actual booking data from Hospitable.

Impact

• Increased manual workload for hosts who must remember to adjust thermostats for each reservation
• Missed energy-saving opportunities when properties remain heated/cooled between bookings
• Reduced guest comfort if pre-arrival climate conditioning is forgotten or delayed
• Inability to leverage Hospitable's existing thermostat automation framework for tado users

Proposed solution

Add native integration support for tado smart thermostats within Hospitable's thermostat automation system, allowing hosts to configure presets (Occupied, Unoccupied, etc.) that automatically adjust tado devices based on reservation status.

Hosts with tado thermostats would be able to:

• Automatically pre-condition their properties before guest check-in for optimal comfort
• Reduce energy costs by automatically adjusting temperatures when properties are unoccupied
• Eliminate manual thermostat management and reduce operational overhead
• Benefit from the same automation capabilities currently available for Ecobee, Nest, and other supported thermostat brands
