Problem statement

Service providers in the Property Manager Marketplace—including co-hosts, remote property managers, and other service professionals—can currently only set one service area in their profile. This severely limits their visibility to property owners outside their single designated area, even though many providers offer remote services across multiple states or regions.

Current workaround

Service providers must choose only one service area to list in their Marketplace profile, which means they can only be matched with property owners within a 30-mile radius of that single location, regardless of whether they provide services remotely.

Impact

  • Lost business opportunities: Service providers miss out on potential matches with owners in other states/regions where they can provide co-hosting or remote management services
  • Reduced marketplace effectiveness: The marketplace doesn't accurately represent the full geographic scope of a service provider's capabilities, especially for remote services
  • Competitive disadvantage: Multi-state and remote service providers appear to have a smaller service footprint than they actually do
  • Inefficient matching: Owners in areas where the provider can work remotely won't see them as an option if they're outside the single designated service area
  • Doesn't reflect modern service models: Many providers offer co-hosting and other services remotely, making geographic restrictions less relevant

Allow service providers to add multiple service areas to their Property Manager Marketplace profile, so they can be visible and matched with property owners across all regions where they operate—whether on-site or remotely.

    I just took a peek at the support conversation you were having with Smarty, our AI support chatbot. It provided some inaccurate information, so I’m glad you flagged this. We do actually allow you to draw as many service areas as you’d like. Our default is to go ahead and create service areas for you; a 30-mile radius around each of your properties. However, you can remove and add them as you please, even at the service-level (e.g. you may provide full-service management in Atlanta, and partial management in Atlanta, Asheville and Chattanooga).
