Per-Platform Security Deposit Controls and Pre-Booking Guest Warnings

Problem: Currently, security deposits may be applied globally, but different platforms (Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com) handle damage claims differently. For example, Airbnb's AirCover may make separate deposits unnecessary. Additionally, guests who are surprised by a security deposit request after booking are more likely to cancel their reservation.

Proposed Solution:

  • Add the ability to enable or disable security deposits on a per-platform basis.

  • Implement a pre-booking warning to alert guests that they will be requested to make a security deposit payment.

Goal: To give hosts more flexibility based on platform policies, improve guest transparency, and reduce the number of cancellations caused by unexpected deposit requests.

Hi @Tim Tyler, the first part of your request is already possible - You can configure deposits per platform. If you select edit per channel, this will show a drop down of all collected channels. You can then set any channel you don’t want to collect on to $0.

For the second aspect - This already happens on Airbnb, guests are shown a message letting them know about the deposit whilst booking. Sadly this currently isn’t possible for the other OTA’s. However we recommend adding in the requirement to your listing description
