Good news! Now when you make an alteration you can modify the pricing of the new reservation. This means that even if your price would normally increase during an alteration, you can change the new reservation price to equal the original and the guest won’t be charged.

This is very needed. When making a booking I have total control over pricing, but when modifying it I have zero control.
I’m just trying to update a guest count, but Hospitable is trying to charge the guest a management fee that I added only after the booked.
I don’t want to charge them extra, I just need to update their guest count.
I tried temporarily setting the fee to 0 in the property listing, but Hospitable was still trying to add $50 when modifying the booking.

Please add the functionality that alterations should NOT trigger the balance of monies due to be charged immediately. Today is July 18th. My guest has 2 payments in August for arrival in September. I want to remove the pets (and the pet fee) from the reservation and the system is telling me that the guest will be charged ALL outstanding balances TODAY. That is embarrassing and puts me in a very tight spot with the guest.
Also, I think this is being worked on, but when I remove the pet fee ($240), the guest is being credited back a total amount of $273 (13.75% more than the credit).
Please make these adjustments ASAP.

Hi @Debra Getts are you requesting for the ability to add guests/pets without changing the price for direct reservations specifically? If yes, this is something we’re currently working on!

Hi Abby. Yes. When a guest books direct and has a confirmed reservation, we need the ability to later (after initial confirmed booking) simply add a pet or humans without the requirement of changing the fees or rates.
My example, we waived the pet for for a guest at initial booking. She later wanted to add more humans to the reservation. To do that, Hospitable required the pet fee be applied. I was not able to alter the reservation to add the humans to the booking - we did not want a pet fee to apply.
Thank you.

Got it! We’re working on giving you the ability to control the price of the booking when making an alteration. This will allow you to adjust the price to waive any pet or extra guest fees when you add them to the reservation. I’m going to merge this feature request with our existing one so that you’ll get updated when this feature is released!

Guest wants to check out earlier but I don’t want to refund him unless I get another booking. Because I can’t do this, I can’t open up the dates to get another booking. Crazy feature! Wishing I’d stuck to basic so I can manage this.

Hi @Toni Hannaford ! We’re preparing to make some changes to alterations for Direct, which include the ability to make updates to the price we calculate for you when making an alteration.
However when a guest shortens their stay, we will still apply your cancellation policy to determine the refund the guest is owed. If the booking is non refundable, they won’t receive a refund if they request to shorten their stay. If the booking is partially refundable, they’ll receive a partial refund. You’re able to refund more if you wish, but we will enforce that you refund the minimum in accordance with your cancellation policy to prevent chargebacks/disputes.
Does that make sense? If you have any additional feedback I’d love to hear it!

How is this NOT built in to alterations?? Changing a price IS an alteration.
