Why is that? Airbnb can do that now.

What Airbnb allows in its own app and what it allows its official partners (like Hospitable) to do through their integrations can be different things. This is one such example. The Airbnb API - which official partners use - does not provide the ability to un-send a message. This may change in the future, but it’s not something that we control.
