Remove "Apply to existing vs. future bookings" prompt for recurring maintenance task rules

Problem statement:

When creating a recurring maintenance task rule, users are prompted to indicate whether the rule applies to "all current guest bookings" or "just future bookings." This prompt is confusing and irrelevant for two reasons:

  • Recurring maintenance tasks run on a fixed schedule (e.g., every 6 months) and are not tied to guest reservations
  • When creating a new rule, there are no pre-existing tasks generated by that rule yet

Current workaround:

Users must select an option that has no bearing on the task's actual behavior, which creates unnecessary friction and confusion.

Impact:

  • Creates confusion about how recurring maintenance tasks function
  • Makes the UI feel inconsistent and poorly tailored to the task type
  • Users may incorrectly assume the rule will interact with bookings in some way

Proposed solution:

Hide or skip the "Apply to existing vs. future bookings" prompt when the task rule type is "Recurring maintenance," since this prompt only makes sense for task rules that are tied to reservation activity.

Unlock:

Users would have a clearer, more intuitive experience when setting up recurring maintenance tasks, with no irrelevant prompts to navigate.
