Support PDF and document attachments in Inbox messages

Problem statement

Hosts cannot attach PDF files or other documents directly to guest messages in the Hospitable Inbox. Currently, only image files (up to 2 MB) can be attached.

Current workaround

Hosts must upload PDF files (such as guest guidebooks) to third-party services like Google Drive or Dropbox, set sharing permissions to "Anyone with the link," and then paste the link into messages to guests.

Impact

  • Feels unprofessional to direct guests to external third-party links
  • Creates extra steps and friction in the guest communication workflow
  • Reduces the polish and cohesiveness of the guest experience

Proposed solution

Expand the attachment functionality in the Inbox to support PDF files and other common document formats (e.g., .pdf, .docx), similar to how image attachments currently work.

Hosts would be able to share professional documents like guest guidebooks directly within Hospitable, maintaining a seamless and branded guest experience without relying on external file-sharing services.
