Task messages in Inbox with teammate filter

Problem statement

Hosts cannot see or respond to task messages from teammates (e.g., cleaners) in the main Inbox. Task messages are only visible when opening individual tasks in the Task Calendar, which means:

  • No notifications when a teammate messages about a task
  • Hosts must check multiple places to stay on top of communication
  • Hosts have to leave the app or task board to text cleaners separately

Current workaround

Texting cleaners separately outside of Hospitable (via SMS or other apps).

Impact

  • Slower response times to time-sensitive questions during cleanings
  • Extra time spent switching between multiple apps
  • Risk of missing important messages from teammates
  • Communication is fragmented across platforms instead of centralized

Proposed solution

Add task messages to the Inbox with a separate view or filter toggle (similar to Airbnb's "All, Cohosts, Traveling" filters) so hosts can:

  • See all task-related messages from teammates in the Inbox
  • Get notified when teammates message them
  • Respond directly without leaving the Inbox or switching apps

Unlock

Hosts would be able to manage all communication—guest messages and teammate task messages—in one unified Inbox, leading to faster response times, better coordination with cleaners, and a more streamlined workflow.
