Problem statement
Guests can currently select booked or blocked dates in the Direct booking widget calendar, only to receive an error message ("dates are not available") after attempting to proceed. This creates confusion and a poor booking experience.
Current workaround
The system does block unavailable dates behind the scenes β guests just can't see which dates are unavailable until they try to select them and receive an error.
Impact
Proposed solution
Visually grey out (or otherwise clearly mark) booked and blocked dates in the Direct booking widget calendar so guests cannot select them at all β similar to how Airbnb displays unavailable dates.
Unlock
Guests would immediately see which dates are available, leading to a smoother, faster booking experience and fewer abandoned bookings due to confusion.
