Allow hosts to customize the sender email address for automated guest emails

Problem Statement:

  • Automated guest emails sent by Hospitable come from a generic Hospitable-generated address (e.g., f662393f-8296-41c5-985d-c68ab0925f25@messaging.hospitable.com)
  • This often causes emails to land in guests' spam/junk folders
  • Hosts cannot change this sender address to their own professional email

Current Workaround:

  • Hosts send manual messages from their Inbox using their own email address
  • This requires extra effort and doesn't cover automated notifications

Impact:

  • Automated emails frequently land in spam, reducing guest communication effectiveness
  • Hosts must manually send important messages, increasing operational workload
  • Inconsistent sender identity across automated and manual communications

Proposed Solution:

  • Add a setting in Hospitable that allows hosts to specify a custom sender email address for automated guest emails
  • This could support custom domains or third-party email services

Unlock:

  • Automated emails would be more likely to reach guests' inboxes
  • Hosts can maintain a consistent, professional sender identity
  • Reduced manual effort for sending important guest communications
