Metrics totals and additional column for rent after discounts
This line for the total is essential and mind blowing this wasn’t a natural part of the initial roll out. It doesn’t seem like a hard fix either. The need for this is to forecast and compare to previous years QUICKLY on the go without doing an export. Gross income is not apples to apples but the total in rent collected after discounts is. You actually need a column for rent after discounts too.
Running numbers by accommodation total (after discounts…meaning actual rent collected) makes comparing income across months more accurate since income in the gross like cleaning fee’s etc can change based on increases in expenses.

Hi @breannear@gmail.com, great news. We just relaunched Metrics, and you can now add a widget that shows your base rent directly 😊
This new bar chart option makes it easy to compare to the previous period, or to the same period last year (via the line chart overlay). There’s also a widget showing total discounts.
If there’s something we don’t support yet but you think we should, let us know in the comments here.

@Emily Tunggala What is going on with this? Why has the metrics update not been released? The current metrics is unusable. We need real year over year and month comparison to previous years not previous month NOW!!!!
We need to see an income line from rent ONLY after all booking fees and discounts. Every channel is different so the current gross is worthless.

@Emily Tunggala I just watched the town hall and your spoke to this feature. I wanted to ask if this new update will display on the metrics display within the app and if you will add the column I requested with just accommodation with the total displayed without exporting. This column for “rent” really needs to be just the price per night with all discounts and fees taken out. This is truest way to compare year over year and to see if you’re on track or not compared to previous year’s/month’s/etc. revenue. Fees change and some are pass through so including them is not helpful…it needs to be JUST total rent collected. Including the price before a discount was taken out is not helpful for doing a quick check to see if you’re on track to meet or beat last year either.

Hey @breannear@gmail.com ! Yes, this is the idea! Thanks for bumping this post, I just assigned myself so we can be sure it’s taken into account.
We definitely have plans not only to separate accommodation from fees, but also have bigger plans to actually get you a profit & loss statement that has your actual expenses in mind (so your actually cleaning fee, etc). May hosts charge more for their cleaning fee than they pay, so some of it could actually be income for them, while the rest is a pass-through expense.
